Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933. It was founded under the name under the name "STATE AIRLINES ADMINISTRATION.” Then in 1938, the name was changed to "General Directorate of State Airlines" and was operated under Ministry of Transportation. Their first international flight was Ankara-Istanbul-Athens and took place in 1947. In 1956, the airline was reorganized and operated under a special legislation.

The airline received their first DC-9 jet aircraft in 1967. Over the years the travel company has been restructured more times. They have continuously acquired new aircraft and expanded their routes. In 1984, the airline was reclassified as a"STATE ECONOMIC ENTERPRISE" and the capital was raised to 60 BILLION TL. In 1986, they started Fareast flights.

They added Singapore flights to their route. A flight to New York was added in 1988. In 1993 THT (Turkish Air Transportation) Incorporated merged Turkish Airlines.

Pretty much year after year since 1997, Turkish Airlines has continued entered block share and code share agreements to expand their network. They provide travel flights between Turkish Republics, to the Middle East, the Far East, Europe and America. Turkish Airlines combined their domestic air-land cargo service with a truck network in 2004. Turkish Cargo is ISO 9001:2000 quality certified. Customers benefit from state-of-the art travel transportation. The network extends from the Far East to the US, as well as from Europe to the Middle East and Africa. Turkish Airlines is the flag carrier of Turkey.

Turkish Airlines helps their country to penetrate world travel markets through their services. The travel airline also helps to make it possible for people to travel between the Turkish Republics of Central Asia, the Balkans, the Middle and Far East, the Americas and Europe. They provide quality aircraft and travel service while constantly adding new aircraft to their fleet and routes to their network.
