Aer Lingus
In 1936, Aer Lingus was established by the Irish government. The purpose of the airline was to provide services to and from Ireland.

 

Air France
On October 7, 1933 Air France was introduced. The airline was inaugurated at Paris-Le Bourget Airport.

 

Air India
The first full year of operations for Tata Airlines (which would later become Air India) was in 1933.

 

Air Jamaica
April 1969, Air Jamaica began operations. They offered non-stop flights from Kingston and Montego Bay to New York and Miami.

 

Air New Zealand
The Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) was formed back in 1940. This company would become the forerunner for Air New Zealand.

 

American Airlines
Lindbergh along with two other pilots flew three planes full of mail back to Chicago from St. Louis

 

Austrian Airways
In 1957 Air Austria and Austrian Airways merged to form Austrian Airlines.

 

Britannia
~ The year 2002, marked Britannia airway’s fortieth anniversary. In 1965, Britannia and Universal Sky Tours are acquired by Lord Thomson.

 

British Airways
The history of British Airways can be traced back to the start of civil aviation.

 

Finnair
On November 1923, Finnair was established. It was then known as Aero/OY. Aero’s travel flight history started on 14th March, 1924.

 

Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways was founded in 1946 by Roy C Farrell and Sydney H. De Kantzow.

 

China Airlines
China Airlines was established in Taipei with an initial capitalization of TWD400,000.

 

Continental airlines
Over 60 years ago, Walter T. Varney founded Continental airlines along with his partner Louis Mueller.

 

Easyjet
Easyjet was founded by Stelios Haji-Ioannou . They were incorporated in March 1995. They set out to provide low-cost scheduled air services within Europe

 

Excel Airways
Excel Airways provides safe, comfortable and enjoyable travel flight services.

 

Flightline
In April of 1989, Flightline was established. The Flightline group includes three divisions.

 

Flybe
The history of Flybe can be traced back to 1979. This is when Intra Airways and Bournemouth merged to form Jersey European.

 

Garuda Indonesia
When Garuda Indonesia introduced their first commercial services, they were called “Indonesian Airways.”

 

GB Airlines
The Bland Group owns GB Airways. This group includes a specialist tour operator, a travel firm and a hotel as well as a few other companies.

 

Gulf Air
Gulf Aviation Company was registered as private shareholding company on March 24, 1950.

 

Iberia
On June 28, 1927, Iberia, Compañía Aérea de Transporte, was established. The airline started out with three Rohrbach Roland aircraft.

 

Icelandair
In 1919, the story of commercial aviation in Iceland began. Icelandair’s roots can be traced back to 1937.

 

Keen Air
Keenair is based out of Liverpool Airport. They are a maintenance company that has been established longer than any other at the Liverpool Airport

 

LoganAir
Loganair Ltd has provided air travel since 1962. They started out as an air taxi service for the Logan Construction Company Ltd.

 

Monarch Airlines
Monarch Airlines has providing customers with quality service since 1967. When the business first started had they had only two aircraft

 

Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways is the national carrier for Qatar. Qatar is an Arabian Gulf State. The airline was re-launched in 1997.

 

Scandinavian Airlines
In 1918 the Danish parent company (DDL) was founded. Then in 1924 the Swedish parent company ABA was founded

 

Silk Air
In 1975 Tradewinds Pte Ltd was founded. This was the tour and travel division of Singapore Airlines.

 

Swiss Airlines
Swiss Airlines provides friendly and reliable services. For intercontinental travel, they provide safe, comfortable flights

 

Thai Airways
Thai Airways operates domestic, regional and intercontinental flights from its home base in Bangkok.

 

Turkish Airlines
The airline received their first DC-9 jet aircraft in 1967. Over the years the company has been restructured more times.

 

United Airlines
The beginning of commercial air transportation started when Walter T Varney began an airmail service in 1926.

 

Virgin Atlantic Airways
Richard Branson was best known for Virgin Records in the early 80’s. This was a record label that signed many big stars including: the Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson.
