Air France

On October 7, 1933 Air France was introduced. The airline was inaugurated at Paris-Le Bourget Airport. The airline had two top priorities in mind; to provide safe and comfortable services. This airline had baggage racks, individual fans and heating. There were also stewards on board. Air France has 100 aircraft by the end of 1938. They had the third largest network in the world. By the time the 1950’s rolled around, they had carried 104,424 passengers. They had also carried 1368 tons of cargo. Again these statistics put Air France as one of the top airlines. They were one of the first airlines to show movies on for people travelling on long flights. When you are considering a trip on an airline then you should have a suitable travel insurnce policy in place.

Air France continued to expand throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s. They added the B777 aircraft to its fleet. They also placed orders for 110 aircraft with Airbus and Boeing. This was all to meet the needs of their continued growth. Air France signed an agreement with Delta Airlines in 1999. The following year four major airlines launched “Skyteam.” Skyteam was a strong global alliance and included: Air France, Aeromexico, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. Air France’s membership in Skyteam has made their position in the travel industry even stronger.

Air France continues to have financial success. They are also one of the leading airlines in the world. In terms of how many passengers are carried they are the leading airline in Europe. They are also the second ranked aircraft maintenance provider. By October of 2003, Air France had 356 aircraft. The make more than 1800 flights each day. During the 2002-2003 fiscal year, Air France flew 42.9 million passengers. Air Frances network includes 83 countries and over 200 destinations. For travel purposes then insurance should be sought, with single journeys you should buy single trip travel insurance and for mulitple trips, you have the option of multi trip travel insurance.
