Online Car Insurance Applications Increase

With the upsurge in the use of the Internet to apply for your Car insurance and home insurance the U.K has now got three-quarters of insurance customers buying their insurance on line.

This has been announced after a survey that was made by the Automobile Association (AA) and it also brought us the good news that it is keeping the market fierce, thus keeping the costs to us at a competitive rate, which is something we al like to hear.

The AA’s head of marketing David Tyers (an apt name for the car industry) said, “that the AA’s research shows that 75% of potential customers are using the Internet to search for a better deal on their insurance premiums, this also includes the custom that don’t have the facility of a computer, as they will get a family member or friend who owns a computer to help and search for them, after which they will use the information that they have gained to complete the deal over the phone.

This has led to 40% of all car insurance in the U.K to be arranged on the Internet, with a figure of 20% of home insurance being bought on line, this is expected to rise with more and more people turning to the Internet to save cash on their insurance, as more and more companies advertise on the T.V, of a better deal on the Internet when they arrange their car or home insurance this way.

The growth in the last year on online insurance cover has had a truly amazing rise, it has seen car insurance cover rise by a superb 64%, a jump of almost two-thirds and a rise of 50% was seen in home insurance, it all adds up to customers starting to hunt for a better deal, rather than accepting the offer from their usual insurance company.

Ultimately this has led to insurance companies giving out lower quotes in the battle for customers, that has seen the average cost of car premiums fall by an encouraging 2%, making the cheapest car insurance, 35% lower than the dearest quote on offer. Long may it continue.
