Don’t worry when I tell you, that little old ladies are running all over the place topless. Well they are, but when I say topless I am talking about convertible cars.
Take it the breakfast is still in the stomach, now that I have explained it a little better.
 Well it has been revealed by AA car insurance, that woman of a certain age (60’s and 70’s) are opting for one last carefree moment and splashing the cash on soft-topped cars, with research showing that on last years figures, that there has been a rise of more than half of that total, of women in their 60’s now owning a convertible, with a slightly lower rise of 40% of the seventy age bracket putting a opened top car in their garage.
AA car insurers also found that there was a rise in the amount of older men in the same age brackets, which were now driving convertible cars, though not at the same level as the women.
This maybe surprising, but even more surprising is that the research for AA car insurance, was that the people who you would expect to be seen and driving around in open topped cars, younger drivers in the 20-35 age group, has actually seen a fall in the numbers taking out insurance for convertible cars.
The research was based on AA car insurance’s 1 million customers and with the overall total of soft top drivers broken down, it found that people who live in the North of England and Scotland, is where the largest rises in car insurance for this type of car, last year.
So if you see an OAP whizzing around in a flash convertible car, don’t think too yourself that they are a bit old for that, think of it as more of living life to the full and the requirement f have the wind blowing through their hair. Though I will say one thing, as long as that hair stay on their heads and doesn’t come flying off and lands at your feet.
