Insurance Fraud Rife In America

The state of New York has a $1 billion a year in insurance fraud and part of this is made up of car insurance fraud. This in turn leads to, as we all know our car insurance premiums rising even if we have not made any claims, with these rises accounting for the cost of fraudulent claims.

So it comes a great relieve that the powers that be, are actually being seen doing something about it and are trying to fight back and catch the perpetrators, before they can cost us much more to drive our cars.

The good news is that the FBI and insurance fraud investigators, were working in conjunction with the Postal Inspection Service, Amherst Police and the Department of Health and Human Services, have apprehended 30 suspects and brought criminal charges against them, for being involved in a scam to defraud car insurance companies of thousands of dollars, after a three year investigation.

The scam involved the recruiting people to stage fake car crashes, in turn those involved would make falsified claims to the car insurance companies, for fake injuries and they would also have many appointments to a health clinic to back up their claims, in the knowledge that, the cosy of these visits would be met, by the car insurance firms that they had the claim against.

Though there is another worrying aspect to all of this, the FBI agents are claiming that the Williamsville Medical Clinic, which the bogus car crash victims went too, believe that the people running this medical facility were in fact in on the scam, along with those who were making falsified claims against the car insurance companies.

This has lead to those investigating the car insurance fraud, to place suspicion on many doctors in the area and medical clinics, as being part of the overall crime.

Maxim Levin (27) is being acclaimed to be the main force behind the scam and it was him who recruited to of the other defendants, one Peter Barbarash (24) and Radislav Rankin (26), who are local to the area, to fake the crashes, to make false claims against the car insurance companies.
