Cars
The micro Smart cars are a very popular brand currently taking
over the United Kingdom with their bright colours and quite
unique styling.
The car insurance groups for these cars
as you would expect are low, with entry level Smart Cars starting
at insurance group 3.
Smart Car models currently available include:
Smart forfour – as the name suggests,
if you read it slowly, this Smart car, unlike many of the
others in the range, can carry four passengers despite its
compact size. However whilst it does feature an improved capacity
you can still obtain man of the benefits of other smart models
including good fuel capacity and the ability to squeeze into
tight parking spaces. The design of the car is quite different,
instead of having the car typically painted all in one colour
it features silver ‘patches’ fitting around the
vehicle from the ground to the roof. And, whilst the ‘cute’
appeal of the car is in place, many will surprised to hear
that the engines sizes actually vary from the standard one
point one litre, but increasing to a fairly powerful mid range
engine – one point five litres with one hundred and
nine brake horse power. The range is available on the road
from eight thousand nine hundred and ninety five pounds to
over twelve thousand pounds.
Smart fortwo – again a self explanatory
name the fortwo is simply a brilliant revolution in car manufacturing.
Whilst the majority of car manufacturers were producing four
seater models – their only two seater models being sports
cars, there was definitely a gap in the market – filled
by Smart cars. If you only have the need of two seats and
are looking for an economy vehicle to get about town, then
the fortwo is perfect. It comes from six thousand eight hundred
pounds, with a superb fuel consumption of sixty point one
miles per gallon, and ultra low car insurance group
of three.
Smart Roadster – for those that like
the Smart range styling, but want a bit more zip. These light
models can do zero to sixty in just over ten seconds and feature
a sports car design.
