Perodua
Cars
Whilst many of the major car manufacturing companies are
either in the United States of America, Japan or Europe, Perodua
is a company based in Rawang, Malaysia – which is quite
rare. They are quite a new company, having been created in
nineteen ninety four, starting off with commercial and utility
vehicles, then, around four years later, expanding their operation
to four seat passenger vehicles.
Perodua remain one of the smaller, niche companies in the
marketplace, with their vehicle production reaching just five
hundred thousand in the year two thousand and one. (Now whilst
this figure may seem large to some people, it is simply dwarfed
by production figures of the more ‘well-known’
companies)
Launching the first of their models in nineteen ninety seven
in the United Kingdom, Perodua, known for their budget vehicles,
still obtain good sales levels due to their affordability.
As a budjet car manufacturer, Perodua has some of the cheapest
car insurance groups available in the UK, with the
entry models having car insurance group 2 and others only
insurance group 3. You can almost be guaranteed a cheap car
insurance premium with this range of cars.
Perodua models currently available in the United Kingdom
are as follows:
Perodua Kelisa - available at just under
five thousand pounds for a brand new model the Kelisa is a
very affordable vehicle all round with low fuel consumption
and affordable insurance group. It’s fifty five brake
horse power means it is useful for city driving but perhaps
less suitable for longer motorway driving. Statistics available
on the Kelisa show its performance from zero to sixty miles
per hour at fourteen point eight seconds and a maximum speed
of eighty eight miles per hour.
Perodua Kenari – This model is, in
our opinion, more attractive than the Kelisa (as above) with
a larger capacity for a more airy feel whether you are the
driver or a passenger. Classed as a people carrier its still
manages roughly the same performance as it predecessor. The
Kenari’s fuel consumption is fifty point four miles
to the gallon with an car insurance group rating of
three.
