The Nissan company comes from the Japanese car company, started
in nineteen ten in order to produce Japans own vehicles (up
until then imported vehicles had a larger place in the market).
Four years later it started producing its own automobiles
– the first of it’s kind named the ‘DAT’
car. The company goes through various incarnations, changing
its name several times until finally settling on Nissan in
nineteen forty nine (having used it originally in nineteen
thirty four but then deciding to call the company something
else).
The Nissan companies major developments came in the fifties
and sixties. In nineteen fifty two they joined forces in the
United Kingdom with the Austin company, establishing their
presence there. Four years later they continued to impress
upon the Western world with their first exports – the
Mitsubishi Datsun to the United States.
