Lexus
Cars
The Lexus company spawned from Toyota, where, in nineteen
eighty three the Chairman of the time, Eiji Toyoda decided
to create a luxury vehicle range for which, the goal was to
be the best in the world.
From these ambitious beginnings development was conducted
on the marketplace, designs, and basically what the consumer
was looking for. The culmination of this was the prototype
Lexus model built in July nineteen eighty five. After several
years of testing the model, for which Toyota had high hopes,
was released into the world, primarily before the media at
the Detroit and Los Angeles Motor Shows, going on general
sale in September nineteen eighty nine.
The car became a real hit with consumers looking for a high
specification luxury car. In more recent years the Lexus range
has expanded, growth coming from the popularity of the first
model, giving luxury car buyers the choice of different styles
and options with their Lexus.
There are no Lexus models available in the UK that have a
car insurance group less than 10, therefore,
expect your car insurance premiums to be relatively high for
the entry models and increasing to expensive car insurance
for the premium models.
Popular Lexus models available in the UK include:
Lexus IS200 – a powerful two litre
and 24v engine gives the IS200 an impressive one hundred and
fifty three brake horse power. These sleek models are surprisingly
affordable for a luxury car, starting at just under nineteen
thousand pounds.
Lexus GS300 – Higher up in the Lexus
range and performance under the bonnet becomes even better.
The GS300 features a cubic capacity engine just under 3000
cc’s (hence the name of the range), with two hundred
and sixteen brake horse power. Car insurance group
is fifteen for the first in the range.
Lexus SC430 – this model is one of
the sportier Lexus models, with many stunning looking bright
red cars on the road. Of all the cars Lexus produce this is
one of the fastest with a four point three litre engine going
zero to sixty in six point four seconds.
