Cars
From Isuzu
The beginning of the Isuzu company dates back to nineteen
sixteen when two major Japanese companies made the decision
to get into automobile production. The two companies were
named Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.
and Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co..
Their first creation was launched in nineteen twenty two,
a truck, and was the first such vehicle to be produced domestically
in Japan – quite a feat at the time. This was quite
a political affair with the Government taking quite an interest
in such production and the companies themselves. As such,
after standards put in by the Ministry and Trade Industry
of Japan, the range was renamed ‘Isuzu’ after
the famous Japanese river. In nineteen forty nine the name
of the company was then formerly changed to reflect their
product, calling themselves ‘Isuzu Motors Limited.’
During the war Isuzu production went to hibernation however
after the war, rather than picking up where they left off,
their presence was even greater, with high production levels.
As such they became one of the best known automobile brands
at the name, their trucks being responsible for much of the
restoration of the country at a low level, moving objects,
food, retail products etc - a staple of the economy and highly
necessary for moving goods around. From this major growth
phase the dominated their market niche and later, in nineteen
fifty three their natural progression moved into the development
of passenger vehicles.
The car insurance group for the Isuza range
are generally high due to the large powerful engines that
are available.
Current Isuzu models popular in the UK include:
Isuzu Trooper – a large and imposing
4x4 vehicle, these are quite popular in rural areas around
the country. There are many different types in the range with
prices from just under twenty thousand to around thirty thousand
pounds. Engines sizes are all strong from three to three point
five litres at a maximum of two hundred and fifteen brake
horse power.
