Honda
Cars
The founder of the Honda Motor company was a visionary man
named Soichiro Honda, a devoted and talented mechanic who
had a real passion for racing – both automobiles and
motorcycles. Even before starting his own company Honda made
several technical innovations for which he obtained patents
and then sold on his creations. These included wheel spokes
and piston rings which were sold to Toyota.
In nineteen forty eight he formed his own company, which,
due to his already demonstrateable talent, many in the industry
thought would be a success even before it started trading.
The Honda Motor company originally made motorcycles only and,
with much tinkering, Honda managed to make great advances
on the traditional four stroke engine in actually doubling
the horse power of the mechanical device.
From the small shop produced such famed developments (something
which even the larger established companies could not even
match), Honda began to diversify to increase profits and their
production line – into trucks and cars. Nineteen seventy
brought about the launch of the Honda Civic, a car which has
been evolving constantly through the years, still available
in its current incarnation. IN the same year the Honda Accord
was brought out which, whilst at a higher price, became a
US best-seller and as such, put Honda firmly on the map within
the view of the public and the automobile industry.
